Emily's Acting Career

Emily auditioned Monday to be in Oliver in a community theater. AND SHE GOT A PART!! She is so stinkin' excited! And we are so proud! 69 people auditioned and 25 were chosen. She will be an orphan work girl and part of the chorus in a street scene. She had to sing 16 bars of a song and learn a short dance to audition. She chose Favorite Things from The Sound of Music to sing and sounded like an angel. Shows are May 7,8 and 14, 15 and 21,22 if you are interested. Saturdays are at 8pm and Sundays are at 3pm. She is going to be a busy girl between now and the last show. She also has dance and a dance recital. And you know.....school.

Fresh from the Brenham Blue Bell Creamery

Nana, You ROCK!! Blue Bell ice cream does not exist in Virginia. (say that like you're crying) We have been deprived for four long years!! (say that like you're indignant) When Nana came to visit and we told her how much we all longed for Blue Bell ice cream she decided that her "little people" should suffer no longer without REAL ice cream. She sent us 4 delicious containers! Which we have savored so sslloowwllllyyy to try and hang onto it. It is all gone now. We drug it out for about 5 weeks. Talk about restraint. Ahhhh, it is (was) soooo good. I did not even know that you could have ice cream shipped. Of course, it gave us another opportunity to play with dry ice. We are so easily entertained. Had to take about a thousand dry ice pictures. Nana, thank you for sending us a taste of Texas, the best ice cream in the country.

I am so ashamed....

I cannot believe I haven't posted in so long. It is almost Valentine's day and I have not even finished posting my Christmas pictures yet. And I still haven't fixed the post for Ethan's Christmas. And it's late now so pretty much I will fix Ethan's pictures and that's it, but I promise to catch up, not tomorrow, but probably the next day. How's that for commitment?
Ethan's room looks much better. But how on earth did I miss putting the cover on that outlet when I painted Ethan's room? It is replaced now. There was something in front of that outlet before. I probably put it back after I painted and said to myself "I'll fix that later". What do they say about the road to hell??? Anyway back to Ethan's Christmas present. He loves it. And he is such a good brother. Emily could not lift even the smallest of weights, so Ethan put toilet paper rolls on the bar so she could get the idea of it. Doesn't it just warm your heart?
Grandpa Bill and Nana Ann, see that shirt Emily is wearing? That is the SpongeBob shirt that you guys helped her earn when we lived in Neches. Still wearing it. Still one of her favorites. And after all those washings, it still glows in the dark.
