Happy Birthday to My Emily

I have not been very good at keeping my blog updated.  Last weekend we celebrated Emily's birthday.  She is 9 this year.  I can't believe she is getting so big.  She is growing into a young girl's body, no longer a little girl.  It's bitter sweet.  She is so much fun.  She is spunky and spontaneous. And a great cuddler.  She has an entourage of one blanket and several stuffed animals that she has to have every night.  The blanket is BooBoo, the most important animal is Schnickelfritz, then Benari, Henry, an oh wait there is another blanket, a small one, and there's another animal I think we call Niblet.  Emily loves High School Musical 3. She got the movie, the sining game for the Wii, a doll, and the soundtrack from the movie.  I love to watch her listening to her cd and dancing in her room when she thinks noone is looking.  She loves to read.  She has anywhere from 4 to 6 books going at a time.  She reads a little bit from each one every night.  She has them laid in a very specific way by her bed.  Don't move them.  Some of the things I love about Emily.  She is cute as a button. Now, let's talk about the party itself.  Poor Emily didn't really feel all that well.  She had dark circles under her eyes and she was considerably grouchy, but because she is such a trooper, only her parents were really able to detect the grouch that lay beneath.   Her dad pulled the cake away as she was trying to blow out the candles.  Silly boy!

I'm in

OK--much better.  I was having difficulty attaching pictures so you could see.  This is my new school.  They accepted me.  I'm a happy girl.  John is wondering if we can start a charity fund for our grocery bill while I'm in school.  All donations accepted.

Happy Day!

Honey Do

It was a hanging things day.  We hung the clock first, which went up so well, without any cussing or throwing things, that I just knew everything else would be difficult.  But everything went up just that easy.  Not luck, good husband choosing skills, I think.  He even hung a curtain rod for me. Everything looks so good.  It feels nice to be hanging things and really be moved in and staying.  You can see that I am painting the trim brown, which I may never be finished with. But , it looks so good.  We are going to pull the carpet out of the living room and put hardwood flooring down during the week of spring break, April 14th.  Keep our knees and fingers in your prayers.

How can this be?

These two pictures were taken 4 days apart.  For ReAl!  It was 8 degrees last Monday night.  Today.....81!  I can't believe it.  But it sure has been a lovely day.  It smelled like spring this morning.

Snow day.....

We have been cheated for so long!  The weather man has assured us several times this winter already that we would see snow.  So, we were very skeptical when they said "this time is for real".  We got a GREAT snow.  Probably 4 inches.  School is closed.  They even closed Fort Lee, so dad is off too.  And now we are going to go for a drive.  More pictures to follow.
